Unfortunately, solvent-rich joint sealants are still widely used.
Although these products are generally technically satisfactory, we do not recommend their use. Not only are these products highly flammable and prohibited by law in the Netherlands, but they also pose a major risk to your health, because you are very close to the floor when using a joint sealant.
We advise you to familiarize yourself with the processing of a water-based filler, such as RigoStep FILL, a water-based thixotropic gel, with which - after mixing with fine sanding dust - joints and nail holes can be perfectly filled.
Mixing RigoStep FILL with sanding dust creates a flexible paste that shrinks only slightly during drying. Sufficient fine sanding dust should be added (approximately 1 part sanding dust to 5 parts RigoStep FILL) until a mass is formed with the consistency of mushy peanut butter for chip processing or somewhat firmer peanut butter for application with a putty knife.
RigoStep FILL dries quickly and can be sanded.
FILL is gel-like, low in odor and solvent, easy to apply and does not yellow.
