UV protection oil significantly extends the renovation interval for already stained and treated wood.
With two layers, the graying process of vertical surfaces is prevented with the UV protection factor of 12 compared to untreated wood.

Easy to apply without sanding. Simple to use and without overlapping.
Does not dry during application
Apply Osmo UV Protection Oil,
Use Osmo UV Oil,
Osmo UV protection oil Extra is ideal for all vertical wooden surfaces outdoors: Doors, windows and shutters (dimensionally stable components), Carports, wooden facades and garden sheds (non-dimensionally stable components).
Preparation,
The wooden surface must be clean, dry and frost-free (max. 20% moisture content).
Apply a first coat to all sides of the wood before mounting.
When renovating, thoroughly clean old open-pore finishes.
Simultaneously de-grey and clean already greyed and weathered surfaces with Osmo Power-Gel Wood De-Greyer .
Old paint and varnish layers must be removed. Always wear a dust mask when sanding.
Do not sand smooth surfaces finer than grit 120.
Allow fresh, substance-rich and special hardwood to weather for approximately 6 weeks after installation.
This opens the wood and allows the oil to adhere optimally.
The finished surface will have different properties due to factors such as its natural characteristics and the application method. Therefore, a test should first be performed on an inconspicuous area.
Applying Osmo UV Protection Oil,
Apply evenly and thinly with a brush or microfiber roller, spreading thoroughly in the direction of the wood grain. Let it dry for 12 hours in a well-ventilated area. Then apply a second coat.
When treating an already coloured surface or during renovation, applying one layer to the clean and dry surface is usually sufficient.
Cleaning the tools: With Osmo Brush Cleaner (free from aromatic compounds)
Drying time: Approx. 12 hours (normal climatic conditions, 23° C / 50% relative humidity) Ventilate well during drying.
Lower temperatures and/or high humidity can increase drying time.
Note;
Oils enhance the natural color of the wood (permanent wet look).
Depending on the degree of weathering, clean after approximately 3-4 years and re-treat with Osmo UV Protection Oil Extra.
For surfaces that are highly exposed to the elements, such as facades, fences or windowsills, you can expect a significantly shorter interval between renovations.
Vertical wooden elements must have an angle of at least 15 degrees. Sharp edges must be rounded (radius > 2 mm). Degrey already weathered surfaces with Osmo Power-Gel Wood Degreaser and then treat them twice with Osmo UV Protection Oil Extra.
UV Protection Oil Extra contains biocides and may only be used outdoors.
The added active ingredients slow or minimize the risk of algae and mold growth. Two coats are recommended for effective protection.
According to the current state of technical research, lasting protection against algae and fungi cannot be guaranteed
Important;
Cloths, brushes, rollers, etc., used for applying UV protection oil must be rinsed with water as they pose a risk of spontaneous combustion. Therefore, always rinse them thoroughly with water before disposing of them. Once dry, they can be disposed of with normal household waste.

Frequently asked question: What is the difference between this UV Protection Oil and the Osmo Colored Terrace Oil?
Well, that's very easy to answer. Terrace Oil is a rich color oil, so it really delivers the full color you choose, offering the best protection. This UV Protection Oil, however, is always blended from Natural Oil with a small amount of color pigment. This results in a subtle hint of color, not a full-color impregnation like Terrace Oil.
