Transparent or intensive colour stain for all wooden floors and furniture surfaces.
Osmo Oil Stain is water and dirt resistant, durable, and provides a grippy surface. Compared to conventional finishes, the natural plant oils and waxes ensure a consistent color and a smooth, even surface. The required topcoat is applied with a colorless Osmo Hardwax Oil.
The open-pore structure prevents the finish from cracking, peeling, or flaking. Resistant to wine, beer, cola, coffee, tea, fruit juice, milk, and water according to DIN 68861-1A – no water stains.
After drying, the finish is safe for humans, animals and plants (saliva and sweat test according to DIN 53160, suitable for children's toys according to EN 71.3).

Osmo Oil Stain is ideal as a colored basecoat for all wood floors, such as solid planks, planks, ship decking, OSB, and cork flooring. Stairs and furniture can also be treated with Osmo Oil Stain.

To stain and protect wood floors without visible transitions , a single coat of oil stain will create a transparent look that enhances the wood's natural grain , while an optional second coat can provide a more intense color tone . A clear final coat of Osmo Hardwax -Oil 2K , 3032/3062, other Hardwax Oil, is essential to protect pigmented finishes from fading . Oil stain hardener is an optional second component that can be used before finishing , reducing drying and curing time to just 4 hours.

One liter is sufficient for approximately 24-48 m² with a single coat. Product consumption depends largely on the properties of the wood. All information applies to smooth and planed/sanded surfaces. Other surfaces may require different consumption.

Applying Osmo Oil Stain,

Transparent color: Apply a very thin layer of paint in the direction of the wood grain to clean, dry wood using the special paint roller below and/or the Osmo floor brush or stainless steel spatula. Then, work it in evenly with a white pad. Let it dry for 12 hours under adequate ventilation.

Intensive colour: If a more intense colour is required, apply a thin layer with the special paint roller below and/or the Osmo floor brush in the direction of the wood grain and smooth it out thoroughly.

Tip: Use an unused microfiber roller to remove any marks within 30 minutes of application.
Allow to dry in adequate ventilation. If a more intense color is desired, apply a second very thin coat with a floor brush, paint roller, or stainless steel spatula and rub it in with a white pad.

After thoroughly drying, always apply at least one more coat of colourless Osmo Hardwax-Oil.
For smaller surfaces, such as furniture, the Oil Stain can be applied with the cotton cloths shown below.
