Osmo Uviwax UV Protection 7200 and 7266
Osmo Uviwax UV Protection is a satin-matte, water-based wood finish with UV protection for interior wooden surfaces. The product helps to significantly reduce the natural yellowing of light wood caused by sunlight, preserving the light, natural appearance of the wood for longer.
Uviwax is suitable as a complete finish for wooden wall and ceiling cladding, cabinets, doors, panels, moldings, and other wooden components indoors. Additionally, it can be used to touch up saw edges, screw holes, and damage in wood that has been factory-finished with Osmo Uviwax.

Osmo Uviwax Colors
Osmo Uviwax UV Protection is available on this product page in:
-
7200 Colourless Silk Matte: helps preserve the natural, light appearance of the wood
-
7266 White Spruce Transparent: contains light white pigmentation for a subtly lighter appearance
A transparent pigmented finish can turn out differently on any type of wood. Therefore, always make a test patch in an inconspicuous place first.
Preparation of the wood
The wooden surface must be clean, dry, and frost-free. Completely remove dust, dirt, grease, and loose old finishes.
Old, intact finishes must be carefully cleaned and, if necessary, lightly sanded. Old lacquer or paint layers that are unsuitable as a substrate must be completely removed. Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment during sanding operations.
The final color result is influenced by the type of wood, the natural color of the wood, the preparation, and the application method. A test area is therefore always necessary.
Apply Osmo Uviwax
Osmo Uviwax UV Protection is ready to use and must not be diluted. Stir the product thoroughly before and during application.
Apply the product thinly, evenly, and in the direction of the wood grain. Use our special paint roller or special flat brush for paint and varnish for this.
Preferably do not use a simple roller from a hardware store or an unsuitable brush. With the right equipment, the thin layer of Uviwax can be distributed more evenly, reducing the risk of visible brush strokes, streaks, and an irregular texture.
Allow the first coat to dry for approximately 3–5 hours in good ventilation. Then apply a second thin coat.
On untreated wood, two coats are normally required. When renovating or touching up an existing, intact Uviwax finish, one thin coat on the clean surface is usually sufficient.
